HP Storageworks Ultrium 1840 LTO-4 drive (UW2 SCSII) EH856A 452975-001
Hello,
Could you please advice if this could be repaired on site (ie. disassembly and cleaning / mechanical check) or requires sending out for repairs.
If sending out is required, may you please refer a repair center in Spain ?
When trying to load the media
1) LTO4 cartridge loads
2) drive makes mechanical searching noise (4 x 7 attempts)
3) ejects the cartridge
4) amber error light "Drive error" starts to blink (only way to reset is turn power off)
a) HP Installation Test fails likely because of the failure to detect/load media.
b) HP Library Tools / LTO Drive Assessment test fails with:
The load operation failed to complete
Sense key 0x04
Sense code 0x4400 (Internal target failure)
Error code 0x7708 miDspFault_0x08 (DSP Fault - StrokeSizeFit - The stroke measured by VI sensor hardware..)
c) HP Library Tools / Health status reports (support ticket):
Rule 6.1 (Servo Calibration/Fatal head calibration)
The drive has experienced a fatal head error calibration
Rule 7.16 (Mechanism Sensor/Push load): multiple errors have been reported while a cartridge being push loaded
I attach the support ticket produced by HP Library and Tape Tools 4.20.
Thank you in advance for your kind help !
Alexandre
