Hp Tavan 14GB Tape Drive

I have an HP Travan 14GB internal tape drive installed on my Server...Windows 2003 Operating Systems.

When I backup my data I get the error that the drive failed to mount (it was looking for a new tape). I am backing up about 8.5GB of data using Windows backup software and hardware compression is on. It does not backup data beyond 7.1 or 7.2 GB.

Could u tell me y this happens

I just took over this network...I am not sure what the previous administrator did to get it to work
