Hello,
We have HP Ultrium 5-SCSI (12 slots) paired with a robotic Fujitsu Eternus LT S2.
We are using LTO5 tapes wich give approx 1.39TB of storage.
Did search, but didnt find any answer.
If could use higher capacity tapes for backup. Like LTO6 or LTO7.
Thanx

Re: HP Ultrium 5-SCSI - Whats the largest tape?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_Tape-Open

Re: HP Ultrium 5-SCSI - Whats the largest tape?
Thanx for answering,
I know about native capacity. The question was if HP Ultrium 5-SCSI supports tapes larger that LTO-5.
I guess we have to buy one tape LTO-6 or LTO-7 and try it.

An LTO-5 drive supports LTO-5 tapes, LTO-4 too and LTO-3 for reading.
What do you mean by "HP Ultrium 5-SCSI " ???
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Solution>> HP Ultrium 5-SCSI = Maker, name of tape drive
So this is a LTO-5 drives ... or do you have something like an autoloader???
Maybe I don't understand your question?
EDIT:
Reading your first post again ...
Fujitsu Eternus LT S2 is a library where the LTO-5 drive is built-in.
Since this library is the same like HP MSL2024 (the same product from http://www.bdt.de ), an upgrade up to LTO-7 is possible, just verify the box has latest firmware.
Good bye SCSI, get a SAS or FC drive.
In case of doubt ask the vendor.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
