incompatible media move

We are running DP 8.10.  When I try to move a tape to a particular drive using the web interface, I get an error message saying 'incompatible media move blocked by media barcode ID check'.

What web interface are you uisng? Could you please upload any screenshot? DO you get the same error message using GUI console?

Which is DP version? Which is the library model? Virtual or Phisycal?

I am using DP 8.10.

HP tape library model # MSL6480

Physical server running on 2012 R2

I am running the HP web interface as shown in the attached screenshot.  I cannot replicate it now as I could not remember the tape I tried moving last Friday.

This is a library console for manage it, not related to DP you must contact hardware support or open new thread into hadrware forum.

It happened again today. I tried moving two different tapes(215 and 212) to two different tape drives and got the same error again.  I tried another tape to the same tape drive(drive 3) and it got move.

What is wrong with these two tapes(215 and 212)?

This is really not too much information.

Maybe you have tapes with let's say a LTO-3 label and want to insert this tape to a LTO-6 drive.

This is incompatible, so it will not try to load the tape.

Check your tapes and labels.

What drive type you are using?

What tapes?

What tape lables?
