L&TT and Surestore DAT 12/24 internal
Running Windows 2000 Server sp4 and Veritas Backup Exec 8.6
Tape drive started getting CRC errors. Ended up replacing drive. New drive has firmware L111.
When I run the L&TT diags on the drive, all pass except for the DDS Acceptance Test. When I try to run a backup job through backup exec, the software tells me that the media is unrecognized everytime.
Any Ideas?

Re: L&TT and Surestore DAT 12/24 internal
I would suggest to use a brand new tape when you run the Acceptance test, because you cannot introduce a variable in the diagnostic process. The test cannot understand if the problem is on the head of the drive or on the tape.
If you replaced your old tape because of crc errors, it may be that the tape has been damaged or write with a out of alignent head, and then your old tapes cannot be read by the new drive. Try to format one and see if this succeed.
