Hey guys and girls,
I have an MSL4048 with a FC LTO8 drive, and a direct connected host. I want to start archiving a few petabytes of data to tape, using LTFS-LE and some smart scripting/programming on Linux.
Hoewever, I can't for the light seem to find a version of LTFS LE that works with the MSL. After a lot of googling I found out that there's a distinction between LTFS (which is for standalone drives) and LTFS-LE (which is for libraries).
I tried LTFS-LE issued by IBM, but that complains about the MSL not being a compatible library. The I found the HPE version of LTFS, and that works on the single drive, but I can't access the whole library and would have to manually move tapes around in the library (which is what LTFS-LE is for, right?)
If I interpret correctly, LTFS = 'HPE OpenStore Standalone' and LTFS-LE = 'HPE OpenStore Automation'.
But where can I find HPE OpenStore Automatiation? Or do you guys have different tips?

Hello @RSTICT,
Please take a look if you find these documents useful.

I haven't worked extensively on StoreOpen automation. I welcome if anyone got some thoughts to share on this.
Regards,
Srinivas Bhat

Re: LTFS and Libraries (on linux)?
Hi Srinivas,
Thank you for your reply, and thanks for pointing me to the StoreOpen 3.5 software for Windows. However, that will not help me in my scenario. Windows is another operating system than Linux, and it seems libraries are not supported in this software on linux.
I think I need the old StoreOpen Automation 3.1, that supported libraries on linux, for what I can find online. I need the file HPE_STOREOPEN_AUTOMATION_3.1.0_RHEL_x64_PKG.tar.gz for that[1], but I can't find any old versions anywhere.
