LTO interfacing source code example

Hi,
I'm trying to write an application in visual c++ which can read/write from/to an LTO Ultrium 230 device, but i don' t know how to do it. I used ntms win32 Api, but it doesn't seem to work properly. Could someone give me a tip on how to do it or a c++ source code example? Thanks a lot.
