Media keeps on ejecting - HP Data Protector Backup Express v4.0 SP1

Whenever I take backup on to a tape, it keeps on ejecting telling Invalid media.. Coiuld someone please help me urgently..

This most commonly happens when the drive is dirty and needs to have a cleaning tape used.

You can download HP's free Library and Tape Tools from http://www.hp.com/go/tape (under "value added tools" and see what the device tests will tell you, in case it's something else.

Hi Stanley,

In DPX you must be getting error 1401 when the media is ejected. For this you will have to check the Backup job, in the device and media screen if you have selected a specific media for this job. Unless you insert that media it wll continue to eject
