Media not detected using HP Ultrium Tape drive with Windows Back-up

I am currently unable to perform back-ups to my Ultrium 230 external tape drive using the standard back-up program in Windows 2003 R2 server. The drive is using the latest drivers and firmware and shows in Device manager without any problems.

The drive is detected by the Windows back-up program but it does not recognise any media in the drive.

I have ran the HP StorageWorks troubleshooting utilities and these have found no problems. I have carried out a full Tape erase with the StorageWorks utility but the Windows back-up program does not even recognise that a tape has been inserted into the drive.

I have attached a diagnostic report.
