MLS 5000 error code 8001(soft) Cartridge load recovery failed
Any time tapes are loaded in any of the Mls 5000to drive the robot will grab the tape then try to put it into the drive. When it is in front of the drive it moves back and forth several times until it finally gives the error message
error code 8001(soft) Cartridge load recovery failed
Has any one come across such a problem

Re: MLS 5000 error code 8001(soft) Cartridge load recovery failed
Get teh free software tool HP LTT here:
http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools.
Stop your backup software services/daemons and run it.
Check with LTT if your tape library (and drives) is up to date with firmware. Update it if necessary.
Remove from library your media with data. Insert in the library known good mediums.
Run LTT robotics test. If such tests will fail open a call with tech support
