MSL2024 tape library incompatible media error
I've rebooted several times and upgraded the firmware from 4.70 to 4.90. I probably need to call in a technician but am hoping there are other things I can try first.
thanks,
Chris

Re: MSL2024 tape library incompatible media error
could be the barcode is damaged and istead of reading L4 it read L1 for example, that could explain why the media is reported as incompatible, and what if you remove the barcode?

Re: MSL2024 tape library incompatible media error
I did not think to a possible barcode label error.
I put in the tape the LT0 Ultrium 4 Data Cartridge Dell.
I thought about a possible compatibility issue of tape.
Can you please confirm that this tape (not HP) it's ok for MSL2024??
What kind of barcode could be ok for this tape?
Thank you.

Re: MSL2024 tape library incompatible media error
However, I have seen several errors bound to a slot, not possible to clear.
In the past I pulled the magazine out, eject all tapes, inserted the empty magazine (to clear such errors), then filled in the tapes again. Hope this helps.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSL2024 tape library incompatible media error
I verified and I open a new thread:
1)all tapes are HP LTO4 and not Dell (sorry)

In the new thread I write the log:

Drive number: 0x01, 1
Tape Alert Flag: 0x04, 4
and also:
11.04.28 14:42:48.03 Library Error - ME: invalid cartridge
Global error code: 0x63, 99
Module error code: 0x00, 0
Current command: 0x17 - phy move
Task originator: 0x0F - rmu
From: 0x02 - storage slot
Number: 0x16, 22
To: 0x04 - tape drive
Number: 0x01, 1
Thank you in advance

Re: MSL2024 tape library incompatible media error
If that doesn't resolve it, I would probably replace the robotics.
However I have never experienced this yet, so haven't been able to verify this.
