When I trying to configure MSL5026/2-SDLT 160/320 in Legato Networker 6.2, I receive an error like:
"SJI:Failure : Not Ready, ASC 0x04 ASCQ 0x8e"
My plataform is:
* Windows 2000 with SP 4
* Legato Networker 6.2 Build 109
* All drivers from SDLT and Library are installed and running correctly under Device Manager.
* HP Proliant ML 370 G1 with 2 proc. 1Ghz, 2x 18.2 hds, 1 Gb Ram and 2 gibabit NIC.
Thanks in advance,
Bruno

Re: MSL5026 - 2 SDLT 160/320 configuration error with legato
Should be "steady/online" and not "blinking/offline"

Re: MSL5026 - 2 SDLT 160/320 configuration error with legato
which drivers did you install? The windows driver? You have to use the driver who com es with Legato.
You have run the L&TT in order to close out an hardware error ?

Re: MSL5026 - 2 SDLT 160/320 configuration error with legato
Answering your questions:
1) The Led is steady and turned on
2) I├В┬┤ve install HP drivers and It├В┬┤s working fine in Device Manager and Removable Storage.
3) I tried to run L&TT but I couldn├В┬┤t identify any device supported by this application.(Devices compatible are displayed in blue)
Any ideas?
Thanks again,

If SAN, what kind of NSR are you using?
Is your server the only one that has a mapping to the drives/changer?

Re: MSL5026 - 2 SDLT 160/320 configuration error with legato
You should stop RMS, put it disable.
if the devices do not appear in legato, try to disable the drives and controller in device manager and let Legato handle himself the devices.
Same behaviour with L&TT, in order to manage the devices you should stop RMS and Legato services. If devices are still non accessible in L&TT, somemething is interfering, may be some old Backup sw that was previously installed. In L&TT you can pass over this problem using ASPI mode that will use an upper layer than Kernel OS mode to access devices

Re: MSL5026 - 2 SDLT 160/320 configuration error with legato
RMS are disabled and when I try to create/indentify all tape drivers on Legato, I receive these error on Jukebox: SJI Failure:Invalid Argument
The type of tape drives detected are 4mm. It├В┬┤s wrong(SDLT)
Tks,
Bru

Did you have a hardware engineer look at the setup, what did he say?
