MSL5030L1/MSL5052 level 2 password recovery

Hello everyone,

I inherited a tape library MSL5030L1 (web management interface says MSL5052) and I do not know the password for Level 2 access. Therefore I can not administer the library properly. Level 1 password is known.

Anyone know a password recovery procedure for this library? Any help really appreciated.

Thanks for the reply; I will check that out, although the procedure seems to be a bit confusing.

However, fyi, I found out on another forum a David Ruska's post about the possibility to extract the Level 2 password from the HP Library&Tape Tools ticket. I will try to generate one and ask HP Czech for help (we are already paying them huge $$$ for doing nothing, basically :-/ )

Finally, Dave Ruska advised me to use the default service password, which is 5566, to override and reset the Level 2 password.

So happy now.... :-)
