MSL6030/MSL5030/MSL5026 Tape Libraries
Has anyone successfully configured one of these libraries with two(2) host systems, (not 2 host adapters in the same system), utilizing both drives and the library functionality?
I refer to Fig. 82 in the online manual attachment.
Thanks.....
Bob

Re: MSL6030/MSL5030/MSL5026 Tape Libraries
Hi Bob,
We have four servers attached to a MSL5026 unit with two drives, the first server that you allocate the MSL5026 unit too first becomes the primary server, then the other servers that you add become secondary servers that talk to the MSL5026 device via the primary server.
You can backup each server with the one unit, but allocate a bank of slots for each server using your software.
i.e
Server 1 uses slots 1-6
Server 2 uses slots 7-12
Server 3 uses slots 13-18
etc, etc ......
Joe.

Dear Bob,
Should work fine provided your backup application supports this. You have the picker controlled by one system. Please check with your Backup Application supplier.
