Pre-exec script: Exit code = -2 The session will not start.
I have a pre-exec script (RSM script) that creates some snapshots to be backed up. I believe the problem is that Data Protector (v5.5) only allows a pre-exec script to run for a set amount of time before it gives up with exit code (-2), although the script itself is still running fine.
Is there any way to extend this time that Data Protector allows a pre-exec script to run? The only other option I can think of is to break up the backup job into smaller groups so the RSM script won't take as long.

Re: Pre-exec script: Exit code = -2 The session will not start.
Hi,
check your Administratorâ s Guide and Global Options File
From:
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector
Administratorâ s Guide
Manual Edition: October 2004
From:
Global Options File
It is located in the
/etc/opt/omni/server/options directory on the UNIX Cell Manager
and in the\Config\server\options
directory on Windows Cell Manager. The file is named global.
The pre- and post-exec scripts have to send some output at least
every 15 minutes by default, or the sessions waiting for the scripts
are aborted. You can change this time interval by modifying the
ScriptOutputTimeout variable in the global options file.
Good Luck
