Problem with HP Storage Data Protector Software
One of our clients is Using HP Storage Data Protector software for Backup. They r using Compaq Proliant ML370 with MSL 600 series Tape Library (SCSI- Ultrium-2 drive). Problem is that Data Protector software doesn't identify which media is attached to it. It isn't showing any drive under Default Ultrium Drive. When u enter a new tape into Drive and try to format it, it doesn't work. Also, the most recent backups are not visible (can't find any logs). What I need to know is what happened to the last backup, is it viewable through Internal Database, through Catalogs or any other option. Why the Data Protector software is not showing logs for most recent backups. How would I restore all the backups taken till now if they r not viewable from Data Protector Manager.
An urgent reply is needed.

Re: Problem with HP Storage Data Protector Software
You can see all the backup logs in the internal database/ sessions window .
Only backup sessions that have not expired will be shown . The expiration period can be set while creating the datalist .

Re: Problem with HP Storage Data Protector Software
Hi,
It seems to be some problems with your configuration. What do you mean with "Default Ultrium Drive", there is no such "default drive" but a "Default Ultrium Media Pool".
There may be some reasons for sessions not viewable, for example:
- Protection for the sessions set to "None".
- Properties for the session objects is set to a backup spec. with no valid backups. Change to "All sessions".
