problem with HP tape autoloader 448 utrium 2
Hi everyone,
I have a problem when installing driver for HP tape autoloader 448 utrium 2 with HP 380G4 (smart array embedded). I am using Windows 2003 enterprise. HP tape 448 could be found by by SmartStart CD, but Windows 2003 cannot regconize it. I tried drivers from HP, but problem is not solved :(. Does HP DL380G4 (cluster version) support tape autoloader ultrium 2???
I need your help
Thanks

Re: problem with HP tape autoloader 448 utrium 2
You should be using a separate SCSI controller with LUN support enabled

Re: problem with HP tape autoloader 448 utrium 2
There isn't an HP driver for that library at this time. An "unknown medium changer" is normal and even some backup applications will leave the medium changer unidentified.
If the medium changer is showing up in the device manager, even if unknown, your backup application should work fine unless you are using NT Backup which requires a driver. Use of NT Backup with that library is not recommended.

Don't use the embedded array controller. Install an Ultra 320 SCSI controller, make sure LUN support is enabled and you will be good to go.
