Reading MC3000XL cartridge

A client has a backup tape written with Colorado Backup (unknown version) on what he says was a Colorado tape drive. The client now has neither the drive nor the software, but he needs the files off the tape. The tape is labelled 3M MC3000XL Minicartridge, PIMAT format, 340 MB, 400 ft. Any suggestions as to current tape drive and software that might enable me to read this tape?

Not quite Im-Possible....

If you find either, an old Trakker/Jumbo 250/350 mb drive or 700mb/1400mb drive or a t1000 drive and use the correct ver CB sw to restore you should be fine.

sw can be found either on the ftp site
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/
or
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/information_storage/

or newer versions on this site

You could spend a great deal of time trying find one of those drives and figuring our what software to use. If this is critical data and you need it in a hurry you might contact Vogon international for data recovery.
