Restoring from DLT tapes
We have some users who used ntbackup to backup some files to DLT tapes. They then installed veritas backup exec and started using that. Now then cannot restore the data from the tapes that they used ntbackup on. Does anyone have any solutions that dont involve uninstalling backup exec (which they dont want to do) or using a server that doesnt have any backup software other than ntbackup (which i dont have).
Thanks, Chris
Thanks, Chris

Re: Restoring from DLT tapes
you shouldn't have to uninstall Veritas, just stop the Veritas services. It can't read the format that ntbackup uses so you will have to use ntbackup to restore.

Re: Restoring from DLT tapes
I tried restoring from a server that didnt have veritas on it but ntbackup couldnt find the save sets. I gave the tapes back to them this afternoon (they are at another site) and advised them to try stopping the backup exec services on their server before trying ntbackup again. Thanks for your reply.
