SCSI Unexpected Disconnect for Surestore E 6/60 with TSM 5.3
Hi:
I have recently upgraded my old backup environment, which worked fine (N4000 server with HP-UX 11.00 running OmniBack II 3.5, connected to a Surestore E 6/60 Ultrium-1 SCSI tape library) to a new one (same server now running HP-UX 11.11 and Tivoli Storage Manager TSM 5.3, with the same tape library).
Since installed, TSM envirinment have been failing showing "SCSI: Unexpected Disconnect lbolt..." errors in syslog. After that, the drives reported in error become unavailable (showed as NO_HW by ioscan) and it is necesary to reset the tape library to bring them back available. Even an ioscan command issued while backups are in progresss cause drives to disconnect.
I appreciate a lot any comment about what could be causing this. We don't know waht to point to: TSM driver (tsmtape), TSM version (5.3.0.0; upgrades are available) tape librery firmware (although it is supposed to be quite updated) or any other thing.
Best regards,
Jose Enrique Gonzalez
