Server found only 2 of 4 drives

Hi,

I had two lto-6 drives installed. Yesterday we extend library and add new two lto-7 drives.

Backup server not be found new lto-7 drives, device manager not detect drives too.

The library correctly detects new disks, the status display is - Good.

I updated the fimrware on drive and the software drivers the server.

Library :

- MSL4048 (Firmware 9.60)

Drives:

- LTO-6 (Firmware 25MW)

- LTO-7 (Firmware KAH1)

Connection:

Drives >> SAN-Switch >> Server (If directly connect new drives on the server, they will not be detect too)

Please help me.

Re: Server found only 2 of 4 drives

Check if the zoning is adjusted (server - new drives).

Check the connection mode set for the drives in the library - point to point (fabric) for switch connections.

Check in the library menu if the drives have a link.

I have seen drives with swapped ports - port A is reported as port B and vice versa.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
