Re: StorageWorks DAT 40x6 Firmware Upgrade FAILED!

Yes, you need to enable "factory overrides". I don't think HP wants the password posted here as this is not something that they want EVERYONE playing with. I believe I used this contact info:

800-474-6836 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for most products U.S.: English and Spanish

The tech that I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. I explained my situation and why I needed the password and he happily gave it to me.

You are for sure at this point right? I mean you checked all the other things first like verifying that multiple LUN support is enabled on the SCSI card, etc?

Re: StorageWorks DAT 40x6 Firmware Upgrade FAILED!

I'm not familiar with Compaq Smart Array 5i controllers. Mine is Adaptec 2940 and it has specific parameters both in the SCSI BIOS settings and on the driver load line for Netware OS.

Sorry, but you are kinda moving past my expertise now. I found most of my info at the support sites for Veritas and HP. Search the knowledge bases at those sites.

Good luck...I hope you get your issue resolved.

Re: StorageWorks DAT 40x6 Firmware Upgrade FAILED!

Ercan,

Check your firmware revision with LTT, sometimes a "failed upgrade" message occurs when it has in fact been successful. This is being looked into.

Regarding your array controller, I am no expert here, but did a quick search on hp.com , search url below, and it appears that new bios and drivers were recently released for this. Please check you have the latest drivers, bios to ensure your problem is not due to that.

Cheers,

Dave Dewar

Re: StorageWorks DAT 40x6 Firmware Upgrade FAILED!

There is now a fix to the problem available, so the downgrade of the firmware should not be necessary, please see the thread below on what is necessary. Many thanks to John Nash who provided this info, I have lost your email address and have not been able to reply.
