Storageworks dat 72 hardware compression
I have an external scsi drive (c7438a)that according to L&TT is not performing any hardware compression. The HP driver was replaced by a veritas driver when I installed backup exec and it seemed to be compressing data at that time. I'm not sure when it stopped compressing.
How do I enable compression again? Thanks.

Re: Storageworks dat 72 hardware compression
The DAT 72 has hardware compression enabled by default so it sounds like you have software compression enabled. can't do both

Re: Storageworks dat 72 hardware compression
I don't believe I have enabled software compression. My Backup exec was set to hardware compression only until yesterday when I changed it to software compression if hardware is unavailable. By the way that change did not work either.
I have also tried using Retrospect 7 instead of Backup exec and I continue to get the same compression problem.
