I have an HP SureStore 6000 with no documentation. What type of media does it use and what is the storage capacity?

Solution
Dear Andy
The HP SureStore 6000 tape drive is a DDS2 drive with a native capacity of 4GB (ie without data compression). Using the built in data compression it is possible to store around 8GB for typical data files.
The interface is fast narrow single-ended SCSI.
You can use 60m,90m and 120m DAT tapes. Only 120m tapes are DDS-2. 60m and 90m tapes are DDS-1 format. I strongly advise sticking to 120m media as switching media increases head wear. Tapes must carry the DDS logo.
The HP recommended media is C5707A. You should have a cleaning cartridge as well. These are good for 50 cleaning cycles (product no. C5709A).
