SureStore DAT24 - C1537A and XP Backup Tool

Since migrating to Windows XP professional, my SureStore DAT24 won't run with XP Backup.
The error message is always "Required medium not mounted. Backup aborted". It's regardless of the medium; I've tried new and old media.

I've done the following things:
- downloaded and installed the HP tape drivers
- upgraded to latest firmware 111 with HP storage works
- enabled the XP service for Exchangeable Media
- disabled the XP service for Exchangeable Media

The strange thing is, with HP storage works, all tests run fine; even the read/write tests with all media that XP Backup rejected.

By the way, my SCSI adapter is an Adaptec AHA-2940AU .

What's wrong with my DAT24 ?

Problem seems to be solved -
I've deleted all media catalogues from the XP Backup Utility, and the drive takes my tapes.
