SureStore DAT40 doesn't recognize cleaning tape

My dat drive does backups properly, but inserting a cleaning tape fails. The green Tape led flickers for several seconds and then the cleaning cartridge is ejected again. The yellow clean led remains dark?Thank you for any help.

Sorry for the posting. I thought i've read most of the earlier postings. But obviously, i missed the one answering my question. As it seems i just misinterpreted the LEDs.

if the cleaning tape stays in more than 15 secinds - say 30sec to a minute) and the cleaning light is off after the tape is kicked out thn you've cleaned your drive) if not you may have an expired cleaning tape - they are only good for 50 uses, and since your supposed to clean the drive once a week if the tape is older thatn a year it's probably no good - try a brand new cleaning tape
