T20e - W2K install problems

Device: HP Colorado 20GB External Travan
OS: Windows 2000 Pro

W2k detects the device initally but in device manager says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

The device is listed as "SCM PPort ATAPI Adapter". I have downloaded the newest drivers from the HP site & tried re-installing many times.

ALSO:

I am getting an "insufficient Memory" message when I try to install Colorado Backup II on Win 2000 Pro machines. It occurs mid-install & I have plenty of ram (512MB). I have tried this on 2 new computers with the same problem.

Any suggestions?

My experience is mostly limited to the HP Colorado IDE and parallel port drives, not the T20e.

HP Colorado Backup II software comes bundled with the HP Colorado IDE and parallel port tape drives. For Windows 2000 Pro, you need at least version 9.0. For Win ME, version 9.1

If it works, don't fix it!
