T3000 and XP

I've read in this thread that HP has given up on getting the T3000 to work with XP. I hope this is not true. I'd be very interested in a solution to getting my T3000 to work in my XP Home machine.

Bob,

The t3000 is floppy based tape drive and not supported by XP

Re: T3000 and XP

The T3000 was manufactured by HP and they should support it.

Are there any drives that work under XP and use the TR-3 cartridge that is used in the T3000?

XP was manufactured by Microsoft and they should, perhaps, support it ??

Depends on your point of view really ?

Re: T3000 and XP

Bob,

To my knowledge there are no other tape drives that can read and write the tr3 tapes that would be supported in XP. It was a decision by Microsoft not to support these legacy tape drives. HP has no control over that.

Re: T3000 and XP

Fortunately the tape drive + shipping came to a grand total of $21 so I'm not out very much money.

Are there any non-HP drives that are XP compatible and that use TR-3 tapes? Or should I ask that question elsewhere?
