TR-4/Travan/T4000s Backup Software

I have been using the old Colorado/HP version 3.22 TR-4/Travan/T4000s Backup software program on my WIN98SE system. It has worked reaonably well, except that it finds many bad tape sectors on Compare, even on new HP cartridges.
I would sure like to know if there is a better TR-4/Travan/T4000s Backup Software program produced by HP or any other company.

Use Backup Exec (Veritas).

I have had problems with using an HP tape drive with HP Colorado Backup on an HP PC. (Not a glowing commendation for HP peripherals.)

The retail version of Backup Exec is designed to use any type of tape drive.

You may need to check your driver compaitibility for when Bill pushes you up to 2000/XP.

The way I read that HP site, HP said to buy software elsewhere.
I will check it out.
Has anyone used this aforementioned Backup pgm?

I looked at the HP site you mentioned.
The Backup pgm mentioned seems to have to purchased from some Veritas associate, and the discount seems to apply to the Colorado Backup version II --- I have version I. I may see if the discount applies to that, too.
