Ultrium LTO 215/230 stuck tape
I have an internal LTO 215/230 tape drive, this is running the latest firmwear, it ran a backup over the weekend, got to 129gb, then the tape drive assumed that the tape had been ejected, so Veritas then asked for a tape to be inserted.
The tape is still in the drive, and cannot be ejected, but veritas is still showing no tape.
Any ideas?

to start with, if you can, power down your system, disconnect the SCSI cable and restart. Hold the eject button for 5-10 seconds and see if the tape comes out.It may take awhile for the tape to rewind so don't get anxious.

Re: Ultrium LTO 215/230 stuck tape
There is also a wheel on the side of LTO drives that will let you do a manual eject. (POWER OFF of course)
I've also found that occasionally the tape case where the slider 'door' is (where the take up spindle is) will get bent and the tape won't eject. So carefully inspect your tape cartridge when you get it out.
