Upg firmware on ultrium 230 tape drive
I tried to upgrade the fireware on a HP Ultrium tape drive and it did not compete successfully. At first when I go into T&LL I an not see the drive. I can see it now but I can not connect to the media. I see it but can not use it. I can not even run test on the drive from T&LL because it can not see media in the drive. It is like it is in limbo. Can someone give me some suggestions please???

Re: Upg firmware on ultrium 230 tape drive
Mike, you don't mention what operating system you. If it happesn to be win 2k, you will need to go into services, stop your backup services as well as Removable Storage service. Then Run LTT again

Re: Upg firmware on ultrium 230 tape drive
I stopped all the services a ran a test again from L&TT but if failed. One of the messages said that it could not tell what version of firmware it was on. As I stated before the server hung while I was upgrading the firmware and I do not think it was update corectly.
