Write Protect Light ON

I have a DLT 35/70 Drive. Recently all tapes that are inserted into the drive cause the Write protect light to come on. This happens to all tapes. I have used the Cleaning tape and this did not help. Does Anyone know the Cause and or solution to this problem?
