RMAN Catalyst Store plug in installation assistance?

Hi,

We tried to install the HPE RMAN Catalyst Store plug in on an Linux system. We hit a few snags. Firstly we installed as root, and secondly the environment varioable ORACLE_BASE was not set. We now tried to unistall the plugin and re-install, but we cannot find the installation path directories or the uninstall script.

We did set the ORACLE_BASE variable to /app/oracle, and treid it install with the ORacle user. We get an error indicating the software is already installed, and we cannot progress further.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Andrew Rycroft

Re: Query: RMAN Catalyst Store plug in installation assistance?

Yes, we have been trying to following the 3.4.0 documentation.

Unfortuneatly now we are in the predicament where the system believes the Catalyst plug in is installed, but we cannot find it and uninstall it.

Any tips on where the system may have installed it given the above scenario would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Hello @AWR,

You can use the 'pkginfo' command to list all the installed packages, among them you can try to identify the package to uninstall.

Refer to the link for detailed info - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/aix/7.1?topic=p-pkginfo-command

@AWR Hi AWR.

Have you solved your problem with removing and installing the Oracle plugin?

Re: Query: RMAN Catalyst Store plug in installation assistance?

Hi,

Thank you for following up. We used another node. We created the ORACLE_BASE environment variable and installed the software with no problem.

We have not yet been able to uninstall on the original node. We cannot find the uninstall script.

Kind regards
