StoreOnce D2D - Domain management and CIFS access when SMBv1 disabled

Hi,

We have a StoreOnce 3100 running code 3.15..3.  We would like to add the device to our Windows domain so that we can manage using domain accounts, and also use domain permissions on the CIFS shares.  For security puproses the Windows team have disabled SMBv1 on the DC.  Whilst this is disabled we are unable to add the D2D to the domain - once re-enabled we can add the device to the domain.  If we add the device to the domain whilst SMBv1 is enabled, and then disable SMBv1, the D2D stays connected to the domain however we are unable to connect to the CIFS shares.

It looks to us like the StoreOnce code is still reliant on using SMBv1 - is this correct and if so does anybody know when this will change?

Thanks.

Total agreed, HPE have been charged a lot of services fee.  And we must take alot of time to  submit EOD, SAID, register Warranty to download driver, firmware ....etc. But after that we still had SMBv1?  WTF? THIS IS THE PRODUCT FOR ENTERPRISE?

Hi Michael,

You are currently running 3.15.3, but in 3.16.3 and above SMB 2.0 is enabled by default and 1.0 is disabled by default. There is a command to re-enable 1.0 in 3.16.3 and above if it is required.

Hope this helps.

Hi Bridgitte,

Afraid the B6200 supports up to 3.13.x code.

Thanks

From the 3.13.8 release notes:

NAS: Updated the default SMB protocol to version 2. Selectable SMB protocols are: ALL, SMB1, and SMB2.
When SMB2 is selected, the client will negotiate version 2 or 3, depending on which protocol it supports.

3.13.8 went GA mid January.
