HP p4500 Application-Manage snapshots on volume in VMWare
I have a Windows 2008 server that is running on a VMWare Esxi host. The volume is connected through the VMWare host, so the Windows host is not directly using an iSCSI connection to the HP p4500.
Is it possible to to take an application-managed snapshot of a Windows host that is installed on a VMWare storage that uses the HP p4500 or does the iSCSI connection have to occur within in the Windows server?
P.S. This thread has been moevd from Storage Area Networks (SAN) (Enterprise) to HP StoreVirtual Storage / LeftHand. - Hp Forum Moderator

Re: HP p4500 Application-Manage snapshots on volume in VMWare
The iSCSI connection has to be made from within the Windows server.
The functionality that you are looking for, vCenter integration, we were told was supposed to be in SAN/iQ v9 but got pushed back and I am hoping will be in the next release.
Hope that helps.
Regards, Mike.
