HP P4500 LEFTHAND Issue
Hi, I would like to know if someone from this forum can help me with our problem with our HP SAN P4500?
We have a setup of 4 LEFTHANDS - LH1; LH2; LH3; LH4 - Raid 5 on LHs and Raid 10 on the volumes.
Last Dec 26, one of the LHs, LH3 went down after the plant restored its power/electricity from a scheduled plant shutdown.
After the incident, LH3, can no longer be detected, we tried all the troubleshooting we know, from restarting, to checking LAN, disks, everything, we could not connect it back to the Cluster.
We have 1 volume that we badly need to recover, and I am hoping that anyone from this community can extend their help and assistance.
Thank you in advance.
Keep safe!

Re: HP P4500 LEFTHAND Issue
I would presume, Node LH3 is working fine, however CMC is not detecting it.
Is CMC showing with an IP Address for this Node?
If so can you please try to ping the IP of the LH3 from another Node in CMC?

Re: HP P4500 LEFTHAND Issue
Hi Rachna,
Thank you for your response.
We've tried a lot of troubleshooting and we were even able to remove the LH3 from the cluster. LH3 IP Address 192.168.10.13 is detected but when you try to ping this, it's not pingable. Also when you try to add this node, it cannot be added back to the cluster.
Our local vendor said, probably corrupted OS. But if we format the LH, how can we retrieve the data that might be residing in it to complete the Resyncing of the volume?
Thank you, I appreciate your help.
Regards,
Paul

Re: HP P4500 LEFTHAND Issue
Hi Paul,
Thank you for the update.
It could be a corrupt OS, however we might have to check few things before we re-image the Node. We need to log into the Node for the same. Hence request you to raise a ticket with the Support.
