iSCSI Hyper-V Windows Server 2008R2 Best practices (Jumbo Frames)

Did somebody test an SQL or Exchange Server (or maybe other Server) with vs. without activating Jumboframes (MTU 9216) on a LH4300?

If yes where exactly did you config it in LeftHand? is it officially supported? I guess we can change it just on the NIC's in DL185 Server.

Hi,

You may have already found this but if not:
Not sure what version of SAN/iQ you're running but in the 8.1 managenet console - select your node, tcp/ip network, tcp status tab and you can change the frame size to 9000 (I think from memory if you have already created a bond it won't let you change it - and both NIC's need to be the same before you can create the bond).

Points to remember:
All servers connecting via iSCSI also need jumbo frames enabled, all ports on the switch connecting the servers to the san need jumbo frames enabled (lookout for uplink or trunk ports between switches carrying iSCSI traffic - these also need to be enabled for jumbo frames - was bitten by this).
