4104gl trunking and IP routing.
I am trying to turn on routing on a 4104gl. I currently have multiple trunks configured. When enabling ip routing it gives me the error " Ip routing can not be turned on while trunks are configued". Please someone tell how to resolve this issue.

Re: 4104gl trunking and IP routing.
Hi Nelson,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Since G.07.74 enabling IP routing and trunking at the same time is not possible.
-Routing/Trunks (PR_1000278860) â When routing and trunking are both enabled, under some conditions the Switch may incorrectly flood routed traffic. The CLI will now disallow the creation of a trunk group to be used as a routed interface.
You can go back to an earlier firmware, G.07.70 is still on the web, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Matt

Re: 4104gl trunking and IP routing.
I don't think this was documented at my time of purchase. I'll have to call and break some ones stugots. I think I have finally come to the conclusion that the 4100 series are horrible switches.

Re: 4104gl trunking and IP routing.
I had this problem when a Transceiver Module (J4864A) was in a slot before the Module with the trunk, HP confirmed this is a bug. My resolution was to put this module in the last slot.
