Dhcp ip-addresses on remote site are from subnet on central site ???
Hi all,
As stated I have a problem with dhcp.
central site:
- dhcp server with scopes for subnets '2' and '3' (at remote site)
WAN - BGP
remote site:
router
- connected route for vlan 1 (ip-address) towards switch
- static routes for subnets 2 and 3 to switch vlan 1 ip address
- routes inserted in BGP
switch
- configured vlan 1 (connected to router) vlan 2 and 3, with ip address in respective subnets/vlan.
- ip routing enabled
- static route for "unknown" subnets to routers ip-address on vlan 1
- vlan 2 and 3 have ip-helper addresses to dhcp server on central site
Connectivity from the switch on remote site towards central site, any active ip-address, is OK!
However on the remote site, ip-addresses obtained through dhcp are ip-addresses from a subnet on the Central site !?!?!
This for both vlan 2 or 3.
Anyone an idea?
Configuration items missing?
Thanx Jaap

Re: Dhcp ip-addresses on remote site are from subnet on central site ???
Addition:
At first we had the following config that worked fine with obtaining dhcp ip-address in right subnet:
on remote switch:
- ip routing
- static route to router
vlan 1 (subnet shared with the router)
- untagged ports for pc/tc's
- ip helper address
vlan '2'
- tagged ports for Voip phones
PCs/TCs connected to VoIP-phones (same in new situation).

Re: Dhcp ip-addresses on remote site are from subnet on central site ???
Hi,
The command:
dhcp-relay option 82 append ip
should solve this problem probably.
I'm not sure if the dhcp server (W2003), ic the dhcp-scope of that perticular subnet, will need to have this option configured as wel ?
Anyone?
TIA
