DHCP issue 2900 /2610
Hi,
The Avaya IP Phone on VLAN 11 is not getting its ip address from the W2k3 DHCP server 128.1.3.5/16 , while the pc peggy back on the phone gets its IP from the DHCP scope.
The data VLAN 1 untaged ip add 128.1.50.253 /16 default route 128.1.100.254 ( Cisco Router )
Voice VLAN 11 tagged ip add ( 172.16.128.1/23 and has the DHCP Server as the ip helper address.
The data network is on 128.1.0.0/16 network and voice is on 172.16.128.0/23 network and the routing is done on Cisco Router.
If i use a static address (172.16.128.51/23) on the phone with VLAN 11 its fine and the PC gets its IP address from the DHCP Server.
The IP phones use option 242 and the scope on the data vlan on the DHCP is set to L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=11 and we also have option 242 in Voice Scope with an address pool 172.16.128.50 to 172.16.129.254/23
The display on the phone shows VLAN 11 ,but it never gets its ip address and just sits there.
Please advise if there are any other configurations required on hp ports, dhcp related?

Re: DHCP issue 2900 /2610
The problem has been resolved, previuosly i tried making the port on the HP switch where the DHCP was connected to data Vlan 1 untagged and voice vlan 11 no tagg, but still had the issue, therefore changed it back to data untagg and voice to tagg. Since then there has been many changes on the DHCP server and the HP switches and we decided to try again to data untagg and voice to no tagg for the dhcp connection on the switch port and bingo all was fine.
