DL380/ML370 G5s - Windows 2003 - Poor Network Performance
Hi,
We are experiencing VERY poor network performance.
We have an ML370G5 as our 'fileserver' running windows 2003 enterprise. Connected to this is a DL380G5. Both have GB network ports.
When copying files between the two servers, we are getting a typical throughput of around 120 Mbits per second (around 15 Mbytes) - which we consider poor for a gigabit network!
Using iperf we were getting similar results... however, changing the default 8k tcp window size to 64k, we managed to saturate the network (~950 mbits/s).
Any ideas why this is so slow!!!
Thanks
Ian.
