Error 711 Remote Access Connection Manger Service
When I try to add a new dial up connection on Hp Pavilion zt1155, Win XP Pro Modem: ESS Superlink M-Data Fax Voice Modem. I recieve Error 711 "cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager Service.A configuration error on this computer is preventing this connection."
The modem works using hyperterminal and doing a modem query is succesful. can anyone shed some light on this issue. Thank you

Re: Error 711 Remote Access Connection Manger Service
On NT you used to get this with Plug and Play Service disabled. Check and see if you have it on.

I assume you have the latest XP updates:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
HP has a new BIOS and a maybe a new XP modem driver for your box (HP Note: This driver is only for the HP Omnibook or Pavilion notebook models with an HP model code of IB/IC running Windows XP.):

If none of the above help then try removing the modem, reboot and then let it find it again.
