I has a HPPC2824 with the version I.08.87 to run.
The SWITCH constantly produced the log entry
W 03/31/06 11:13:47 tftp: SENT error:4, msg: Illegaly TFTP operation
W 03/31/06 11:13:48 tftp: SENT error:4, msg: Illegaly TFTP operation
W 03/31/06 11:13:49 tftp: SENT error:4, msg: Illegaly TFTP operation
It is not a further user on the SWITCH announced.
How can I killed the Process?
Can there be another cause?

Hello Carsten,

Presumably, there is a SNMP package running on your network. This package may query your switch for a file that simply does not exist on the switch. However, then you should get Error 1 instead of Error 4.

Advised:
- check for SNMP packages on your network.
- check for Virus/Worm/Trojan on the network.

You can also try the following setmib to disable TFTP on the switch:

DISABLE
setmib 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.5.6.0 -i 1

enable again with:

ENABLE TFTP
setmib 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.5.6.0 -i 2
