Firmware upgrade prevents handset from working 4100 series switches with Mitel PBX
Hi
We upgraded our 4108GL series from the original firmware (thats 5 years ago) to the latest G.07.109.
Everything with the exception of one things is working. We have a Mitel system, 100 handsets and two console phones (5550). All of the handsets work correctly. With the exception of the two console phones. We have done a number of tests:-
We have tried the console phones in various positions on the network and they only now work directly plugged in to the PBX.
We have checked VLAN tagging, routes and carried out various traces.
The issue seems to be the 5550 cannot negotiate the switch.
What might have changed to cause this.
Mitel have advised that they think its inter VLAN routing.
Any thoughts ?
Some more background
PBX is on latest firmware
PBX connects to one 4108GL
All phones connected to one of two 4108GL’s
All PC’s connected to another 4108GL
IP Phones work in both 4108GLs
PC work in Both
VLANS configured on both switches
Trunk configured between switches
PC switch is gateway
Other phones that a do work include 5330, 5215 etc
Phones are provisioned by DHCP from windows server, that has scopes on both VLANS
Thanks in advance for any comments / suggestions
