GBE2c date and time setting to persist across reboot

Good day all,
How does one configure the date and time on a GBE2c switch so that the changes persist across a reboot?
I can set the date and time (either thru the CLI or the BBI)on the switch, but whenever the switch is rebooted/reset the date reverts to 1 Jan 2006 and the time changes to some random time.
When using the command line, after I enter the current date and time, the diff command returns that the current config is identical to the new config, the apply cmd indicates that no apply is needed and the save cmd indicates that no save is needed.
FW and Boot image are both at v2.0.50 and changes are done using the admin login.
NTP is not configured. Thanks.
