Gigabit upgrade Procurve Advice
I currently have 6 dell and hp netservers and 4 procurve 2524 switches. i want to upgrade the links to the servers to gigabit, and was thinking of installing intel Pro 1000MT cards in the servers, buying a Procurve 2824 switch and 4 ProCurve 100/1000-T Transceiver (J4834A) for the Procurve 2524's. I was then going to connect the 2524 via the 4 dual-personality ports of the 2824. Any comments....i have also been looking at the more expensive Procurve 4140gl

Read all posts from the URL below to get an image of what's happening to DELL computers (not only PowerEdge servers, but also Optiplex PCs).

Re: Gigabit upgrade Procurve Advice
it sounds like you have the situation in hand. The only thing I would do is manually fix the speeds of the network cards and the ports on your switches. The only reason why I say this is that I have experienced problems with auto negotiation with different manufacturers.
