help with vlan routing 2626
i have 2626 pro curve switch. I do not have any router and want to have inter vlan routing in 2626 itself.
port fa0/1 assigned to vlan 2 and fa0/2 assigned to vlan 3.The vlan2 - gateway 10.1.2.1, vlan 3 - gateway 10.1.3.1 configured and ip routing command also enabled.
the client's default gateway is their respective vlan gateways.
Am not able to ping even the gateway of the respective vlan.
correct me where i went wrong.
Thanks and regards,
Varadan

This is the requirement given to me. It is in the planning stage. i am testing it in a simulator.
Kindly guide me the procedure.

Re: help with vlan routing 2626
#vlan ....
#untag
For the uplink ports between switches, they should be tagged under all the vlans that they are going to carry traffic for.
On the 2626 to enable routing just issue the command:
#ip routing

Re: help with vlan routing 2626
Thanks for the update.
Your are right. Since there is no sim for HP, am trying the same setup with Cisco.
If the down stream switches are not manageable, how we can pass the vlan info?
Thanks and regards,
Varadan
