Hp 2626 and loop-detection
I have a HP 2626 switch, that runs with firmware H.10.50 and i want to setup loop-detection, but i understand that i have to setup spanning tree aswell, is this true? i would prefure not to run spanning tree in my network, do to company police. can anyone confirm this? or maybe give me a solution to this problem.
Thanks..

Re: Hp 2626 and loop-detection
loop-protect is independent of spanning tree,
I'd recommend:
loop-protect 1-24
loop-protect disable-timer 300

Re: Hp 2626 and loop-detection
loop-protect disable-timer but i have set the disable-timer to 0 so that it just clos down the port when it detects a loop, but i dont shutdown the port. I have also set the test count for loop to 5 sec.. Is this because i dont run with spanning tree that it dont work?

Re: Hp 2626 and loop-detection
It seems that you have to set a disable timer(for exmpale 30seconds).
And you have to set de transmit interval to 1 second.
In that case it seems to work most of the time.
