hello !

i'm wondering what can i do with the MAC address printed on the back of the HP switch 2312 ?

i.e.:
00:30:6E:DB:C4:C0
00:04:EA:23:CC:C0

is there a possibility to connect via tcp/ip ?

i would like to see port error stats

Hello Peter,

You can make a nice picture of it or take it from the back and stick it on the front of the switch.

Unfortunatly you can do nothing. The 2312 is a unmanaged switch.

Do you think you have errors?

hello !

may be we have errors on the cables. so there is the "!" option in the panel to see only the actual errors.

i do make a picture of the mac addr label in din a4.

I would suggest to call HP support. In Germany the phone number is 01805 25 81 43

There are some commands for testing purposes where you or a ProCurve-engineer will be able to check if there are any errors on the ports. Please be aware that the engineer always asks you to flash the firmware to the latest version. I believe that F.05.17 is the latest currant version. See link
