HP Procurve 2610-24 stuck on test LED, no networking

Hello

I have a Procurve 2610 that was working well, until when I tried to turn it on today, it would not pass the boot test sequence. It does the thing where it flashes all the LEDs on the front, the POE test, and then it just stops, with the green test light stuck on. Are there jumpers on the board I can use to disable the test or what would I do to fix this?

I let it sit for 12 hours, unfortunately, it is frozen initializing.  There is no additional output other than just that little initializing text and the standard bootup information.

I was able to get it to show debug information, is this helpful?

Also have you treid to factory reset the device?

What is the current software version in the device?

I showed the debug information in the attached picture above, I have factory reset it several times, It is running R.10.06, from November 28, 2007 build number 14201, which is old but was completely working fine until the issue began.

Here's the debug info in text:

The switch was on and offline sporadically, with the power outage it had been off for about 2 days, with a total uptime of probably around ~1500 hours

I have attempted to upgrade the firmware, it still doesnt function, which leads me to believe this is indeed some sort of hardware failure, since it can't pass its bootup testing sequence.

It freezes on the text 'initializing' in the console, and the following lights remain on on the front:

POE is solid green

FAN is solid green

Test is solid gree

ACT is solid green

I can't seem to find any information on this light sequence, so it seems to be frozen in the test. Is there any way to disable the testing from either the bench console or the rom console?

Thanks! the serial is confidential info erased, the warranty check site says its until the year 2108, not sure if that is real or not.

Hello,

I believe original packaging is not required. This switch has lifetime warranty and its difficult to keep it for long time but support is the one who can confirm this with supply chain.

You will get a new switch with return label. You can ship back the faulty switch after replacement.

Thank you so much for all the help! I was able to solve the issue and get the unit networking again. I don't recommend anyone attempting my solution without proper safety precautions, and knowledge that it probably breaks the warranty, but I was able to physically remove the device's POE boards (one near the back and another attached via breakout pins on the top), which seemed to be faulty, and it booted up just fine. It seems that the POE breakout board was the issue.
